List of Approved Foods and Brands

Beans - Canned
No oil or fat added. Vegetarian Baked beans ok. Fat free and vegetarian refried beans ok. 14.5-16 oz cans only.
Bread – Whole Wheat or Whole Grain
• Whole wheat bread, Whole grain bread and whole wheat tortillas must have whole wheat flour as the first ingredient.
• No “enriched wheat flour” or “bleached enriched wheat flour” as the first ingredient.
• Water must not be the 1st ingredient.
Cereal
• Must contain less than 6 gms sugar per oz, or less than 21.2 gms per 100 gm
Fresh Fruit and Vegetables
Loose fresh produce should be weighed to find out the total price of the items and determine if you have enough cash value benefit to purchase it:
Example: 3 oranges @$3.44, 2 peaches @3.44 and 1 bag of salad mix @2.99 =$9.87.

Canned Fruits and Vegetables

Frozen Juice
• Must have 100-120% Vitamin C per serving.
• Blended juice ok.
Infant Cereals
• No jarred oatmeal.
Infant Fruits & Vegetables
• Multi-packs ok, such as 2 packs and 4 packs.
Infant Meats
• No DHA/ARA added.
• No mixed dinners
• No meat-vegetable mixtures
Milk - Soy
• Soy milk- 8th Continent (1/2 gal) is located in refrigerated Dairy or Natural Foods dairy section, Pacific Natural foods Ultra Soy(quart) is located in natural foods aisle. Client may buy both to get full benefit.
Oatmeal
• To find 16 oz Oatmeal, choose “Mom’s” which may be found in the natural foods section of the store.
Tofu
• Tofu-No flavored or pre- prepared tofu products. 14-16 oz only.
• Look for a minimum of 10% RDA for calcium.
